About us

SamShine was founded in 1997 by Sandy Wagner, based in the Netherlands. With a vision to bring wonder, color and beauty into the streets, she combined her different talents and developed fabulous stilt dance acts. The first act premiered in the summer of 1997 and won the main prize of the street theatre competition in Blankenberge – Belgium. Her larger than life imaginative characters were well received in the festival scene. Off to a flying start SamShine Theatre was born.

In time SamShine has grown into a versatile troupe of professional and passionate artists with Sandy Wagner as artistic director. Detailed, new and much larger acts were created and the collection still continues to grow. We create our unique form of theatre with enthusiasm and a sense of aesthetics. For over 24 years our company of stilt dancers and artists brings wonder and a touch of magic to so many places in the world.
